How was your weekend? Hope it was sweet! I’m in the middle of a juice cleanse and it’s been completely amazing! I can’t wait to tell you guys all about it.
This past weekend I spent a lot of time in the kitchen developing recipes because I know I’ll be in Australia for the next few weeks and wanted to catch up on blogging. It’s amazing how much time I can spend myself when I’m cooking and baking; my heart feels content.
But damn, can we just talk about these bars?
Breakfast is looking sweet with that pretty chocolate drizzle. Am I right or what?
Of course they are a healthy version of sweet because you know I’m always looking out for your dietary needs and waistline.
Just kidding. I’m really only making recipes up that seem interesting; things that I like to eat, bake, and create! I’ve realized that my body loves natural foods — and these easy oatmeal bars are exactly that. No flour, eggs, dairy, or butter!
These vegan oatmeal breakfast bars are made with:
Gluten Free Oats (you get to make oat flour and it’s soooo easy)!
Ripe bananas.
Honey (or agave/maple syrup!).
A tiny tiny bit of unsweetened applesauce (no extra cals from oil).
Chocolate chips for a little bit of sweetness.
I adapted this recipe from my pumpkin chocolate chip oat bars except these taste like banana bread with awesome oatmeal texture. If you’ve ever put bananas in your morning oats, you know what I’m talking about.
You are going to love these oat breakfast bars – they’re great for when you’re on the go and can be frozen so that you can just heat them up for a quick bite! I’m sure kids would love these in their lunchbox or as an after school snack, too.
For me, they’re a great 3pm snack or a way to satisfy my sweet tooth in the evenings. 1 bar only has around 116 calories!
If you end up making these bars, be sure to tag me on Instagram or post a photo to my Facebook wall – I love seeing what you create!
Have a great week! xoxo
If you make this recipe, be sure to leave a comment below and rate the recipe! You can also snap and picture and post it on Instagram using the hashtag #ambitiouskitchen. And of course be sure to follow Ambitious Kitchen on Instagram. xo!

Healthy Banana Bread Chocolate Chip Oat Breakfast Bars {vegan & gluten free}
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups gluten free oats
- 1/2 teaspoon aluminum free baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3 medium ripe bananas
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract (gluten free, if desired)
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce (or sub melted coconut oil or butter)
- 1/4 cup honey (agave nectar or maple syrup if vegan)
- 1/3 cup chocolate chips (vegan, if desired)
- For chocolate drizzle:
- 2 tablespoons chocolate chips (vegan, if desired)
- 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray 9x9 inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
- To make oat flour: Place oats into blender or food processor and blend for 1-2 minutes until oatmeal resembles flour. You may need to stop blender and stir oats a couple of times to ensure that all oats have been blended.
- Transfer oat flour medium bowl; whisk in baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon; set aside.
- Place bananas, vanilla, applesauce, and honey into blender; blend 1-2 minutes or until smooth and creamy. Add to oat flour mixture and mix until just combined.
- Gently fold in 1/3 cup of chocolate chips. Pour batter into prepared pan, spreading evenly with rubber spatula.
- Bake for 15 minutes or until knife inserted into center comes out clean or with just a few crumbs attached. Cool 10-15 minutes on wire rack.
- Prepare drizzle by adding 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips and coconut oil in microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high 30 seconds; stir well to combine then drizzle over the top of bars. Cut bars into 16 squares and enjoy!

Can’t wait to try the out!! I bought some ripe bananas just for making banana bread but I’m gonna make these instead. Great job 🙂
Enjoy!
Hi Monique,
Your recipes look awesome especially the gluten free, egg free ones such as this one. I attempted to make these bars now and for some reason after 20 minutes baking they are very uncooked on the inside. I’m leaving them in longer but not sure why that is. The only thing I changed was adding oat flour instead of grinding oats to make flour. Could this be the problem? Hoping they still turn out:)
Could be, but not likely. Did cooking them longer help?
Yes, they Look amazing. But no way.. sorry look at the carbs an sugar in one bar. 🙁 An basically no fiber or protein. Sorry How are these Healthy?
I have to agree with Sherrie. Very high in sugar and carbs!
Thx Sherrie for saying something.I am surprised u say gluten free.
Oh goodness 😂😂😂 “Surprised” it says gluten free? They are gluten free! Read the ingredients!
Oh no! I just realized that I used 2 1/4 cups of oat flour 😱 that’s why they are a little dry 🙁
I don’t love the banana flavor, what could I use instead? Thank you!
Ps: congratulations on your cute baby ❤️
I love that it’s healthier and those chocolate drizzles are just calling my name 🙂
Yum! Those look delicious! I would have killed for these when i was gluten free, but can still enjoy them now! I love making homemade bars, and I always love to enjoy them for my training. Thanks for the recipe!
Healthy bars like this are soooo fabulous for breakfast! Loving this!
Oh yummm! These look great! And I think I have all of the ingredients. Which means…time to make some banana bread bars! 🙂
They are so good – you will love them!
Is the honey necessary to make the recipe work or can I sub powdered sugar substitute? These look amazing by the way!
Hi Jenn! You can definitely sub brown sugar or regular sugar instead of honey – I recommend increasing the sugar to 1/3 or 1/2 cup. Powdered sugar would not work. Hope this helps!
Hanks so much for a quick reply 🙂 I think I meant granulated sugar but wrote powdered hehe 🙂
Do you think I could do something similar with carrots instead of bananas? (and raisins instead of the chocolate chips)
I used a 9×18 pan and did 1.5x the recipe- turned out perfect! I would also suggest really smoothing out the top of the batter- mine was a thicker consistency, probably due to my not-overly-ripe bananas, and it didn’t really settle or even out smoothly while baking. Loved the thicker, brownie like bars- so much more filling and satisfying then fluffy banana bread. Repeat recipe!

I should have known this was made with oats and banana! Looks so good and I love how healthy it is!
Looks great! Just wondering, how is this different from banana bread, besides the pan size?
Well, it’s more of an oatmeal bar since there isn’t any flour – dense but still chewy and has a great texture from the oats! Hope you like it!
Hmmm, technically this recipe does have flour in it… oat flour IS flour 🙂 Perhaps what you are meaning to say is that it doesn’t have any WHEAT flour?
Those look fantastic! Great job and great recipe 🙂
Happy Blogging!
Happy Valley Chow
I am always swooning over your recipes. These look amazing-and with that chocolate drizzle!
Thanks Lauren!
Yum! Just to clarify…the 2 1/4 cup oats is pre-ground? The actual amount of flour it makes will be different I imagine. So you aren’t saying to grind enough oats to make 2 1/4 cups of oat flour, correct? Thanks! Can’t wait to try!
Nope – if you read in the directions you will grind the 2 1/4 cup of oats into oat flour.
If you wanted to just use oat flour, how much would you use to make the equivalent of 2 1/14 cup of oats that you grind?
2.75-3 cups of oats approx!
These look so good and nutritious I can't wait to try these.
They are lovely! Hope you like them!
This looks like the ultimate breakfast for on the go mornings!
All of your banana creations are magical. Can’t wait to make this at the weekend!
If I already have oat flour, how much would I use? Thx!
about 2 cups.
I made a pan of these this morning….absolutely delish!!! I will be making these again next week because I know they will not last long!
My friend made these and brought some for me to try, and since I’m not a lover of chocolate chips, I didn’t think I’d like them – but they were AMAZING! She used cacao nibs. Can’t wait to share the recipe with my sister-in-law for her celiac son. Thanks for sharing!
OH MY! All that without all the fat?!? YES! Knowing myself, I would finish the entire pan. In one sitting. Just sayin’.
Hey there! I have been following the blog for awhile, I was hooked after your vegan banana bread was near perfection! I just wanted to throw out a sub that I used in a pinch and worked really well. I didn’t have applesauce on hand one day, and did not want to weather a blizzard to get to the store, so I subbed out for Greek yogurt and banana once in the pumpkin oat bars and another with Greek yogurt and a touch of molasses. I really loved the slight tang and moist texture from the yogurt/molasses combo. Just wanted to pass it along in case anyone runs in to a similar issue 🙂
Thank you! I want to make these this morning for Bible study and I don’t have apple sauce – but I have yogurt!!!
Perfect timing for Valentines Day, this is yummy, I love chocolate flavor…will try this to prepare…
These are delicious!!! Thanks so much for posting such a great recipe 🙂
Ok, I have a problem… This just came out of my oven and now I can’t stop eating it from the pan! I don’t know how it’s going to taste at room temperature, but chances are that I will have eaten the whole thing before it cools down! 🙂
Haha! I had the same problem. 😉
Trying to make some protein bars, do you think it is possible to just a scoop or two of protein powder in it?
Maybe 1 scoop, but I would remove about 1/4 cup of oat flour if you do that. 🙂
Do you think natural peanut butter can also be added? Would that change the baking time?
i made these ..turned out great 😀 thanks for the recipe
Delicious! Just made these and I just can't stop eating them.
what if I just use regular oats will that work?
like old fashioned or 1 min.
You could definitely try it! 🙂
What’s the purpose of the applesauce? I don’t have any so could I just leave it out or is there a good substitute that will work? 🙂
You can use a few tablespoons of coconut or olive oil instead!
my family loves these! I made them over the weekend because I needed a healthier quick breakfast option and this was perfect. My 2 year old daughter calls them oatmeal cake! thank you so much for this post!
These are amazing!!!!!
Thank you so much for this recipe! I’ve been looking for a homemade “cereal” bar-type recipe and this fits the bill perfectly! My kids loved them (and so did I)!!!
so delicious! Everyone who has tried them begs me for the recipe. Thank you so much! I can’t wait to try your other creations.
My one comment – it was a bit too sweet with the agave. I’ll probably cut back the next time I make it.
Thank you again.
I’m so glad you enjoyed them! Thanks for the note about the agave. 🙂
How much oat flour does the 2 1/4 cups of oats yield? I have pre-made oat flour that I’d like to use. Thanks! The recipe looks great!
About 2 cups
Do you think these would work using almond flour?they sound amaaaaazing!cant wait to make them!:)
I’m not sure – but let me know if you try it!
I made these bars the other day and they’re almost gone.
They are delicious and a great way to use up ripe bananas.
I love trying new vegan recipe’s, especially the ones that replace flour with oats.
Keep them coming.
This recipe is a keeper!
I made these last night and they are SO delicious. I loved making the Oat flour. Have you experimented with using other flours like coconut flour? Would that lower the carbohydrate amounts? Thanks!
Kinda like a tasty mouthful of banana glue. Oat flour is too dense to be used exclusively for this recipe IMO. Maybe blending with quinoa flour would help?
Banana glue, what? I just made these this morning and they are freakin’ good! Even my 3 year old liked them. I wanted to freeze some, but there is no way these won’t be gone by tomorrow! Thanks for a great gluten free and healthy recipe! I will definitely be making these again!
Banana glue???? You must have done something wrong because these are perfect. I used half honey and half coconut sugar.
my baking powder has sodium aluminum sulfate, ok to use?
Yep, you’ll be fine!
I used coconut flour and whole wheat flour, rather than oats. I kind of just eyeballed it so I can’t tell you what measurements I used, sorry… About 2 cups of those flours combined, I’m guessing, plus about double the applesauce, as coconut flour requires extra liquid. Really, really good!!! Definitely recommend – super easy! Oh, I also threw in a tbsp of raw chia seeds.
These look so good, but cant use them 🙁 Son allergic to bananas.
WOW! Just found your website. Thank you for sharing such wonderful recipes!
I just made these and they are delicious!!!! Thank you for a great recipe!
Love the recipe!!!!! So gooooood!!! Thank you!
Can I use a 8×8 pan for this recipe?
Yes!
WOW! These are GREAT! I’m so glad I stumbled across this recipe…I had to substitute baby food (pears) for the applesauce and used evaporated milk instead of the coconut oil… but they were amazing. I’m adding this recipe to my collection. Thank you!
I made these this weekend, omitting the honey, upping the bananas and adding in lots of choclate chips and coconut flakes and coconut flour. Amazing! Thanks for sharing!
I’m glad you liked them Allison!
Substituted chocolate chips in the batter with blueberries, so yummy!
Great recipe! Thanks for sharing! I halved the honey, added a pinch of cardamom, and topped with toasted almonds.
Do I have to blend it into oat flour? or can I keep half oat flour and half oats?
I would recommend blending, but let me know if you try it with half and half!
When I made these I only had an 8×8 pan, so it reminded me of a cake. Which totally inspired me for a coffee cake. Instead of chocolate chips, I added frozen berries (even placed extra on the top). Because of the 8×8 pan, I baked 10 minutes longer. Sooooo good. Could probably make muffins, too. Thanks for the inspiration. Finding wheat/GF baking recipes that also don't include some kind of sugar has been a struggle for me.
Love the idea of berries… I have frozen blueberries in the freezer…. hm 😉
Hi I just tried your coconut bars with great success and want to try these now!
Just wondering though, if I already have oat flour, how much would I need, rather than processing it from oats?
hey has anyone tried freezing the dough i was thinking of putting it in muffin cups b4 so when i want some it will be fresh and warm
I just made these tonight! I made them as muffins and they turned out GREAT. I love the texture of them. Thank you for the great recipe!
Amazing!! These are sooo easy to make. I only had 2 bananas and they still turned out amazing!!
These are surprisingly popular with my household! They were baptised ‘Roadkill bars’ since the first time it came out of the pan looking like a banana bread which had been run over by a truck. The second time I used 2 lg bananas and subbed just shy of 2 cups of packaged oat flour (consensus on google subbed 1cup oat flour for 1 1/4 cup rolled oats), and used parchment paper. Less gummy…. and doesn’t look like road kill…. but the name has stuck!
These are amazing! Made them for the first time tonight. I had an avacado I needed to use so instead of three bananas I used two and an avacado and it was incredible! Thanks for the recipie!
I just found your blog and it’s simply A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I love your recipes and I just followed you on instagram for more inspiration.
I tried it here: http://oanaeugenia.blogspot.ro/2015/04/desert-rapid-cu-unt-de-arahide-si-fulgi.html
It’s written in Romanian so you won’t understand a thing, but you’ll recognize that it’s your own recipe.
Lots of hugs! Keep up with the good work!
I’ve made these a few times. They are delicious! Thanks for sharing your recipe!
Hi, I’m not a fan of coconut oil, can I use something else just as healthy?
olive oil works great!
The batter tasted amazing, I added 1/3 c milk since I found the batter to be very thick and not of pouring consistency at all ( the recipe read “pour bater” ). Waiting to see how it turns out… STill moist after 20 min in the oven… Do the original ones become hard after the baking time? They taste lovely btw… thanks for posting this recipe!!
OMG these are amazing. Obsessed with them. I skipped the chocolate drizzle and drizzle a little peanut butter on top instead. SO SO good.
This receipe is amazing!! I didn’t have any baking powder, applesauce, vanilla extract or honey. Just used a teaspoon of coconut oil, table spoon of lucuma powder and 1 teaspoon of cacau powder and threw in some cacau nibs. It was yummy! I made some Chocolate Cashew butter cream for the side. Too goodand no sugar!! Will take these on a long haul flight for healthy to go snacks. Thank you 🙂
Hi I’m wanting to make these but have frozen ripe bananas. Should I thaw them out first or just blend them frozen?
I have oat flour. Can’t I just use that? Or do you HAVE to make your own?
Delicous! My vegan daughter loved them and my husband thought they were scrumptious and he is a picky eater. I added walnuts & chocolate chips.
Thank you for the recipe. I am going to try more of your recipes.
Great to hear that!!!
Just made these using old fashioned oats. I only had two bananas on hand. I used two bread pans since I didn’t have a 9×9 pan. Turned out great! My two year old loves them.
YAY! I love when kids find things they love to eat. 🙂
Would there be a way you could make these with less ground oats and more whole oats? To make it more like a soft oat bar instead of a brownie consistency. Thanks!
These bars are awesome! I liked them better blended in the vitamix than in the food processor! But either way they are amazing. We have out of town guests all.the.time. so having a quick, healthy breakfast that everyone loves is so awesome! thank you for this recipe!
Thank you so much for this great and easy recipe! I did alter it a little bit to meet my needs for my lactation treat of the week. If anyone is interested, I swapped the applesauce for coconut oil, honey for maple syrup and added sliced almonds with 4Tbsp of brewers yeast. It was like a banana cake! Awesome! 🙂
Sounds amazing!
I just made these Healthy Banana Bars today and they are SOOOO MOIST and DELICIOUS!!! Thanks for sharing!
I made these and loved them! Shared them with me co-workers and they loved them too. I posted about them on my blog if you would like to see my review http://alishasweetescape.blogspot.com/2015/11/tried-it-and-loved-it.html
Since I am making my 10th or 11th batch of these, I figured it was time to leave a comment. I discovered your recipe in the fall when I was training for a marathon and LOVED them! I don’t like bananas, but I know they are great for me on long runs. I keep one of your bars in my water pack when running long distances and take bites throughout my run. They have sustained me for numerous miles and I love that I have not had to resort to typical running gels (filled with who knows what). My five, three and one year olds also enjoy them! Thanks so much for a great recipe! Also, I sprinkle them with coconut for a little something extra.
Thank you so much!!!
I just made these and they are delicious!! My kids think they are eating cake. They don’t even know it’s healthy! ? I added a couple scoops on vanilla soy protein powder for some extra protein. I will definitely be making these again!
These are soooo good. I added a couple scoops of vanilla soy protein powder and they turned out great…so moist and fishy. My kids think they are eating cake. They don’t even know it’s healthy!
I kept the oat flour to a course grind in my blendtec/vitamix and these turned out AMAZING. I had trouble drizzling the chocolate so I put it in a parchment bag, cut the corner off and squeezed out the chocolate. Worked great. I brought two of these bars to work yesterday and they were so good I had to eat them both. Now today I have no treat 🙁
I just made this and couldn’t be happier! I am GF
Myself and need to remain non dairy, no eggs, soy, or nuts while nursing my son due to allergies. Breakfasts are the hardest for me and I’ve been looking for a good “bar” I can grab on my way out the door with 3 kids. This is perfect and can be frozen! Love, love, love and so do my other kids. Food you can feel good about!
I made these and they were a huge hit! Thank you for the recipe!
These look really yummy but I only have quick 3-minute steel cut oats on hand. Has anyone tried this recipe using them? Wondering if any modifications are necessary? Thanks!!
I just made them and subbed in plain yogurt, no vegans home today, and molasses. Instead of the chocolate I used dates and coconut flakes. Delicious chemical free breakfast bar for breakfast on the run.
These are delicious! I made a batch last night for breakfast and I’m hooked! You’d never know from the taste that it is egg and sugar-free! Yummy and guilt-free…thank you!
Just made these! Smell and look delicious! My kids are going to enjoy them for sure.
This question has been asked a few times now but not answered – is it necessary to blend the oats to a flour or can the oats be used as is…”whole”? Has anyone had success using unblended oats?
You need to blend them into a flour!
It looks so gorgeous! It’s going to be a excellent base for the weekend party!
I made these in a mini-muffin version, and they turned out great! They are going to be perfect for my morning commute. Thanks for posting 🙂
Oh, Wow. I have so many bananas in the freezer and decided today was the day to conquer them. I picked this as my first recipe and was searching for another recipe for the remainder of my bananas. In the meantime, these finished and and were sampled. No need to look further. They are so good that I am making a second batch for the freezer. Thank you so much for this amazing recipe!
These are so delicious. I’ve made them a couple of times. I even like them without the added chocolate drizzle! They taste so good slightly warm with a coffee. I can’t stop at just one! And my daughter thinks she’s eating cake – only I know there is no added sugar or white flour! It’s a win-win 🙂
This recipe has blown my mind! So healthy and free from gluten, soy, dairy, egg and nuts! I have made these a few times now and my mind is still blown! They taste great! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!!!
Meant to give it five stars! Something happened while it was processing! This recipe definitely deserves 5*!!! 😀
I can’t remember what I was singing but it was definitely a happy moment in the kitchen!
Your recipe is magical. 🙂
these were really great! i’ve been wheat-free for almost two weeks, but i need my goodies. i only used two bananas since that’s all i had, and an 8 x 8 inch pan (didn’t know they made that other size), but they came out very well. the only suggestion i had, and perhaps that’s because they were a bit thicker, is that 1/3 cup of chips did not make them look as obvious as they did in your photo. no eggs, no fat, a pretty perfect recipe! thank you!
My sisters keep asking me to make this one again:-0
I honestly have to make this for my family and I once a week! So good. I suggest adding 1/3 cup of honey if you are making this for people who are not used to healthier baked goods! Thank you so much!
So glad to hear it!
This post explains it really For bacteria just imagine that the "bad cars" are cars full of hostile
5 stars+!
So easy to make this. You can also use preground oat flour too, in the same amount. I am looking forward to trying it with pumpkin in the fall. Don’t skip the chocolate drizzle! 😉
Great to know on the oat flour! And yes – chocolate drizzle is everything 🙂
I made this today. Followed the recipe to a “T” however, I did add some chopped walnuts for some crunch.
Very very good. Moist and yummy.
Walnuts sound like a great additions! Glad you enjoyed.
These are soooooo good!!! I had to get them in the freezer pronto because after cutting I’d already ‘tried’ 3 (just to make sure they were really that good! haha). I will be making these over my normal banana bread to keep it healthy and definitely going to try adding nuts and maybe using almond flour to see how it works out. Thank you for another wonderful recipe to satisfy my sweet tooth!
Adding nuts would be a great addition! Enjoy!!
These were absolutely amazing, however I took them out after 15 minutes and they were still completely raw. 10 more minutes and they were perfect. My roommate and I both loved them, thanks for the delicious recipe!
Hi Maria! Noted on the timing here – it may have been just a difference in ovens! Glad they turned out well with a bit more time for you 🙂
We just made these are they are awesome! Our little ones (and even my husband 🙂 loved them! Thank you for sharing this recipe. It will definitely be a favorite in our kitchen. Happy Baking! 🙂
I’m so happy to hear that! Perfect for baking with the family 🙂
These are my favorite new treat! They are so delicious!!! Thanks for the recipe! 😍
So happy to hear that Michelle! 🙂
hello! this looks amazing! I have two questions.
I only have two super ripe bananas – is that ok or should i just hold off until i actually have 3?
I dont have enough oats for the flour. Can I sub in GF all purpose flour?
I tried to do some research on my own but thought Id come to the expert 😉
Thanks!
really cool site
I was looking for recipes with oats and bananas that I could modify for increasing my milk supply (I’m breast feeding my new baby 🙂 ). This one looks delicious! Can I add brewer’s yeast and flax meal (ingredients in many lactation cookies). If so, any idea how much or any other modifications to make? Thanks!
Hi Dawn! I’m not 100% sure how much brewer’s yeast and/or flaxseed meal to add, but you can definitely try adding some! These muffins are also great for lactation: https://www.ambitiouskitchen.com/power-flax-chocolate-chip-banana-oatmeal-muffins/
Storage recommendations please?
Found this recipe to be AWESOME…I did tweek some by using 1/4C flax seed for balance of oat flour…half honey/sorghum…and added 1/4 chop walnuts…cooked it on my convection microwave thus making it healthy and energysaving!!
Great! Glad those swaps worked out for you 🙂
These are great! I didn’t have applesauce so I used pumpkin and they turned out great!
Do you think I can do a combination of oats + flour? I have quite a few gluten-free flour options (such as buckwheat flour). I kind of want of want something halfway between granola bar and banana bread. Or you know like the oatmeal cookie concept but in a bar
I have only made the recipe as is so I’m not sure what different flours may do or how they would change the recipe. Sorry! Please let me know if you try out a different substitution.
one of my most popular recipes!!
I seriously loved these!! Thank you! Super yummy texture and flavor for a healthy bar. Used store-bought GF oat flour (instead of grinding my own), added a little extra cinnamon, and instead of the drizzle, I just sprinkled vegan dark chocolate chips over the top right when it came out of the oven and spread the chocolate with a knife when it melted (sort of like frosting). It was just quicker with the kids keeping me busy. Other than that, followed the recipe to a T. This will be entering the Saturday brunch rotation for sure.
Perfect! Great idea with the melted chocolate – yum 🙂
Just what I was looking for! Turned out great thank you 😊
So happy to hear that!
They look and smell delicious!! Cooling off now! Excited to eat them 😊
Hope you love them!
This was delicious! I made it vegan and added inulin. It was so cakey and sweet.
I’m glad that worked out well!
These are so delicious and so easy and quick to make! Definitely a healthier alternative to banana bread and just as moist. I only had a 9×11 pan, so used that and only cooked 10 min and they turned out perfect. Love all of your recipes!
Perfect! Glad you enjoyed!
Breakfast is always exciting in our house, thanks to Monique’s numerous yummy HEALTHY recipes (a little drizzled chocolate leads to a lot of smiles!) Easy to make and very filling!
Love it! So happy to hear that 🙂
Thank you for posting this recipe. The treat turned out delcious and was simple to make. It gave me a way to use up my ripe bananas. Keep on performing the excellent work!
Perfect! So happy you liked them.
Very good! I added one egg, because I eat them. And instead of drizzling the chocolate, I just sprinkled mini chocolate chips over the hot squares. Super moist and don’t taste “healthy”. Will be making again!
Perfect! Glad you enjoyed!
If I don’t want to use gluten free oats, can I just use regular oats or even flour?
Regular oats are fine!
I have made these more times than I can count! They are a perfect grab and go snack or a healthy dessert! Wouldn’t change a thing about them!
So happy to hear that!
This recipe is so easy to make and is so delicious!
Glad you love them!
These are delicious! They were super easy to make and satisfy my afternoon sweet tooth perfectly. Thanks for another great recipe!
So happy to hear that!
16 servings! LOL – clearly not in a house with teens or those with poor self control ;p Incredibly good, hit the spot when I was craving a not WFPB/vegan banana snack cake I use to make.
This turned out amazing! I was surprised by how healthy it was but I’ve got to stop assuming “healthy” food implies “tasteless.” I only had 2 brown bananas on hand so I added extra apple sauce to compensate and it worked out great! I also used maple syrup instead of honey and the result was divine!! How good this tastes points me to the goodness of God! Thank you for the recipe!
I’d like to add peanut butter for a little protein- can you recommend an amount?
These were so delicious and super easy to make. Turned out alot better than I expected. Will make again
So happy to hear that!
Divine. Just baked them and baking again… too good to be healthy. I used coconut oil.
Glad you love them!
