Hello, September! Okay, summer technically isn’t over until September 21st, so we have plenty of time for patio season, grilling, and hoarding as many fresh berries as possible. At the same time, I think it’s appropriate to start whipping up cozy recipes with delicious Fall flavors. PUMPKIN ANYONE?
September is pretty much the best of both worlds and I’m sooo ready for it. To kick off the month I (of course) rounded up 30 incredible, seasonal recipes to cook in September.
What’s in season in September?
Besides stocking up on (and maybe freezing) the last of your summer produce, get ready for fall by picking up some fresh:
- Apples
- Basil
- Broccoli
- Brussels sprouts
- Carrots
- Cauliflower
- Grapes
- Kale
- Potatoes
These healthy recipes are the perfect combination of fresh and comforting — you’ll find hearty salads & one pan meals, plus plenty of breakfasts & baked goods to kick off fall. Get ready to pick the last of the zucchini in your garden, and then be sure to hit up your apple orchard to get these on your table ASAP.
If you make any of these recipes, be sure to leave a comment and let me know how you liked it! Snap a photo and share it in our Facebook group or on Instagram with #ambitiouskitchen. Enjoy, xo!

People are literally SO ready for summer. Since the beginning of July, customers have asked me if I serve Brussels sprouts and broccolini where I work at. I don’t blame them! Brussels sprouts, basil, cauliflower, broccoli, garlic, carrots, sweet potato, and kale are the BOMB DOT COM!
Agreed! All the goods in September 🙂
