This is the bak d beans recipe I’ve been searching for! I served these for the 4th of July and even my 8 year old niece loved these ‘cow it beans’! I added an extra Xtra can of kidney beans to make sure we had enough for my crowd. Leftovers were even better!

I’m plant based, so I’ve tried many baked bean recipes. This is by far the best I’ve tried, and it’s very easy. I use these beans in various ways other than as a side dish– for example, I put them in a tortilla along with other veggies and avocado slices, and I use them for snacks. Wonderful recipe, thank you!

So strange! Did you follow the recipe exactly? Because they’re cooked slowly in all of the sauce they should turn out nice and tender.
